Budget Friendly Outer Banks Vacations

Worried you can’t afford a family vacation this year? You are certainly not alone. We all know the economy may be making things tight right now – making family vacations one of the “extras” that gets cut first. However, getting away from the stress of everyday life and spending time together as a family is important…and it doesn’t have to cost much. As you will discover in this list, an inexpensive family vacation does exist. And it exists on the Outer Banks of North Carolina.

Here are the top
10 Reasons the Outer Banks Provides a Budget-Friendly Summer Vacation:

1. Deals, Deals and More Deals

Yes, you can still afford a vacation. With exclusive “preferred guest” promotions, you can experience the beautiful Outer Banks of North Carolina at a fraction of the price! From gift certificates and free nights to a limited-time money back cancellation policy, ResortQuest can help you keep your family vacation.

2. More Relaxation…for Less Money

With oceanfront hotel rooms costing as much as $299/night during the summer, the answer is simple. The average cost per night, per person in an oceanfront Outer Banks vacation rental home is as low as $45 a night! And the hotel room can’t boast a private gourmet kitchen, expansive multi-level decks, private pools and hot tubs…

3. Gas Is Still Cheap

Driving is still the cheapest way to travel..and the Outer Banks is within driving distance to most major cities on the eastern seaboard! According to AAA Travel, the cost of regular unleaded gas now averages around $1.90/gallon – while just a year ago it was $2.97/gallon! And with airlines introducing a ton of new fees (from a plain soda to pillows to your one-and-only checked bag!), it makes sense to pack up the family and hit the road.

4. Your Own Mini-Resort…Included in the Price

From game rooms with pool tables to theater rooms with surround sound, the options for fun are limitless (and included in the price of your stay) when you stay in one of ResortQuest’s Outer Banks vacation rentals.

5. Party of 12? 14? 20? Right This Way.

Eating out while on vacation can add quite a bit of unnecessary cost to a family vacation. Fixing just one meal a day “at home” while on vacation can save you hundreds of dollars. Each ResortQuest Outer Banks vacation rental home boasts its own private – often gourmet – kitchen, making it easy (and much cheaper) to plan and host large family dinners without the hassle of traffic, reservations or hard to please taste buds.

6. Cost Splitting

Many vacations can be too expensive for a single family but when the costs are split between one, two or even three other families, a vacation can become quite affordable! ResortQuest has the answer. When you choose one of ResortQuest's Outer Banks vacation rental homes, you'll enjoy luxurious space, multiple rooms, fully appointed kitchens and baths, gourmet kitchens, rec rooms, private pools, hot tubs…and other thoughtful details of home. So everyone in every family will have plenty of space to relax, unwind and truly stretch out.

7. Mini-Vacations

ResortQuest understands that your time (and money) are valuable and so we offer you the option of an Outer Banks mini-vacation – allowing you to experience the Outer Banks on your own time and schedule…and at a price that’s right for you.

8. Even Dogs Need a Little “R&R”

There's no need to leave your dog in a cramped kennel for a week...many pet-friendly Outer Banks vacation rental homes allow your dog(s) to vacation with you!

9. Forget the “Extras”

When going on a summer vacation, you’ll need “the extras” like beach chairs and umbrellas. Don’t stress about having to pack them or buy them once you get here…many Outer Banks vacation rental homes include them! From beach chairs and DVDs to baby equipment and games, most Outer Banks vacation rental homes are well-stocked…so you save some space – and money!

10. Out of Season Vacations…Out of Your Mind Prices

Escape to the Outer Banks during the “Off” season and discover smaller crowds and low prices…both of which can make your getaway a more enjoyable one! You can find great bargains and no shortage of activities no matter what time of the year on the Outer Banks.

You can afford a vacation...and ResortQuest is making it happen. Search our exclusive Outer Banks vacation homes and find your own sandcastle by the sea.

Outer Banks Relay for Life...A Huge Success!

Every year, across the country, one event brings together entire communities to take part in the fight against cancer. That event is the American Cancer Society's Relay For Life.

This year, the Outer Banks Relay for Life was held on May 17-18. Teams from all over the Outer Banks came together to celebrate those who have survived cancer, remember those we've lost and fight back against a disease that has affected too many lives.

ResortQuest Outer Banks is proud to be a corporate sponsor for this monumental event. This is our 12th year participating in the Relay and we are happy to be a part of such a compassionate community.

We thank all of our owners, family and friends that have helped our team fundraise money for this worthy cause. Thanks in part to the donations from Relay For Life and other events, the Society is saving lives, helping those touched by cancer, and empowering people to fight this disease all over the world.

Now, on to the 2009 Relay!

Ribbon Cutting for New Duck Town Park and Boardwalk

Last Thursday marked a monumental day for the Town of Duck...they celebrated their 6th anniversary as an incorporated Town as well as the completion of the new Duck Town Park and boardwalk. Community leaders, project managers and guests gathered to witness the ceremonial ribbon-cutting - which was the official grand opening of the Duck Town Park including the boardwalk, picnic shelter, gazebo, public kayak and canoe launch and the park trail.

The park is designed to be a premier community recreational facility enabling residents and visitors to experience the natural beauty of the 10.33-acre soundside maritime forest and willow swamp.

The ceremony marked the the completion of the first two phases of the project. The next two phases include the construction of a small outdoor amphitheater and a Town municipal facility with public meeting and event space, along with public restrooms; all of which are being designed to preserve Duck’s coastal village atmosphere and blend in with the park’s natural environment. The construction of the amphitheater is set to begin in late 2008, with the municipal facility’s construction tentatively set to begin in late 2009.

The deer are out and about..

...in our very own backyard!

Arriving to work early this morning, we were greeted by some of our well-known locals. Not seeming bothered by our presence, they simply kept eating their breakfast as if we weren't even there. Quite a beautiful scene to start the day I think...
